We believe that children become motivated to be lifelong learners when they are a part of a thriving learning environment that includes the participation of families, schools and the community. All parents and teachers of Hanover Street School are members of the PTO.

Every year, with support from the administration, the PTO organizes several events to support and enrich the environment at HSS. This is just an example of  what this year may look like. Listed bellow are events we support or fund.

Volunteerism can happen in many ways.  Getting involved with the HSS PTO can look different to each member.  We are always open to suggestions, comments and feedback for new or improved ways to support our students, our staff and our community.

The PTO provides mini-grants to support HSS staff in their efforts to educate students. Our Mini-Grant budget for the 2026–2027 school year is $900. Staff may apply for any amount up to $900. Applications for the 2026–2027 school year will open from August 2026 until April 30th, 2027.  Requests received after April 20th, 2027 will be reviewed the following September. The purpose of the Lebanon (HSS) PTO Mini-Grant Program is to give the school employees of Hanover Street School an opportunity to apply for funds to carry out special projects with their students or purchase materials.  These projects are intended to enrich, supplement, or complement the curriculum and align with the PTO mission.

The mini-grant program is not intended to provide items, materials, or supplies that normally would be or should be included as a school budget request.
